Midnight Patchouli (पचौली) Clean Perfume™ · Parfum

50 ml
Patchouli from the Western Ghats
Parfum, 25% concentration
8+ hours on skin
Made in India

Patchouli, blended with bergamot and lavender for a scent that is dark, earthy and quietly warm.

Midnight Patchouli (पचौली) begins with patchouli grown in the Western Ghats of India, where heavy monsoons and rich soil give the leaf its depth.

It opens bright and green with bergamot, softens into the herbal calm of lavender, then settles into patchouli: earthy, woody, faintly sweet, drawing closer to the skin as the hours pass.

A Parfum at 25% concentration, it wears for 8+ hours. An Indian ingredient, reimagined for modern perfumery. Made in India.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does origin-led Indian perfumery mean?

Origin-led Indian perfumery refers to the craft of centering fragrances around authentic Indian raw materials, and the origins that make them significant. Exceptional Indian ingredients are the starting point of any Signature fragrance. We then interpret that ingredient through modern perfumery to create a scent that feels contemporary and easy to wear.

Who is Midnight Patchouli for?

Midnight Patchouli is for someone who likes fragrances that feel warm, woody and grounded, but not heavy. It balances earthy patchouli with bright bergamot and aromatic lavender, making it a suitable choice for anyone who’s looking for something distinct and with depth.

If you are looking for a fragrance that feels edgier than a typical fresh or floral perfume, this is worth trying.

How does it smell when I first spray it, and how does it change?

When you first spray Midnight Patchouli, you get the freshness of bergamot, with a green, bright feel. As it settles, lavender comes through with a clean, aromatic quality. Over time, patchouli becomes more noticeable, bringing in a warmer, earthy and woody character.

So the fragrance starts fresh and aromatic, then becomes warmer, deeper and more grounded on the skin.

What is this perfume free from?

Midnight Patchouli is made without phthalates, parabens, synthetic dyes and other undisclosed ingredients. Like all Secret Alchemist perfumes, it is made with full ingredient and allergen transparency and uses grain-derived alcohol.

Is it a day fragrance or night? Which occasions does it suit best?

Midnight Patchouli is versatile for both day and night. The bergamot and lavender give it enough freshness to work during the day, while the patchouli adds warmth and depth as the fragrance settles.

It works particularly well for dinners, evenings and nights out, but you do not need to save it for night time. If you like deeper fragrances during the day, it can easily become an everyday scent too.

Will this perfume make for a good gift?

Yes, especially if the person you are gifting enjoys woody, warm or aromatic fragrances.

It is also a good choice if you want to move beyond the more familiar floral and fresh fragrance profiles. If you are unsure about someone's fragrance preferences, a travel size or our Discovery Set is an easy way to let them experience it first.

How is Signature different from the Alchemy collection?

The two collections start from different ideas.

Alchemy is our collection of modern, everyday fragrances. The scents are designed to be easy to wear and fit naturally into your daily life. Signature starts with the Indian ingredient and its origin, then builds the fragrance around it.

Signature is also more concentrated, at 25% parfum concentration, making it a richer and longer-lasting fragrance experience.

What’s the difference between clean perfume and traditional perfume?

Clean perfumery focuses on ingredient transparency and thoughtful formulation. At Secret Alchemist, our perfumes use grain-derived alcohol, made from wheat, and are formulated without phthalates, parabens and synthetic dyes. We believe you should know what goes into the fragrance you wear.

Rather than making broad assumptions about traditional perfumes, our approach is centred on transparency, carefully selected ingredients and a clear understanding of our formulations.

How do I apply clean perfume for maximum effect?

For the best fragrance experience, spray your perfume onto pulse points such as your wrists, neck and behind your ears. The warmth of these areas helps the fragrance develop naturally on your skin.

You can also lightly spray your clothes to help the scent linger. Allow the perfume to air dry instead of rubbing it in, as rubbing can alter how the fragrance develops. For delicate fabrics, test on a small, inconspicuous area first.

Can the colour of my perfume change over time?

Yes, a slight change in colour can occur over time due to the natural ingredients in a perfume and their interaction with light, air and storage conditions. This is a normal possibility with fragrances containing natural materials and does not necessarily indicate a change in quality or performance.

To help preserve your perfume, store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat, and keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
